How To Run The .22 LR AR Conversion Kit In Your Br4 DISSENT

Written by CMMG Jacob | Nov 26, 2024 10:59:46 PM

The CMMG® .22 Conversion kits have been a popular way to get out and spend some time on the range with your AR15 without breaking the bank on ammo. But what if you want to shoot .22LR out of your new 5.56mm Br4 DISSENT like all the traditional AR guys can?

Fret no more, the same 5.56 to .22LR conversion kit and magazines will work in the Br4 with the use of the included adapters. If you were an early adopter of the Br4 and you did not receive the adapters with your gun, send us an email at customerservice@cmmg.com to have yours sent at no charge.

There are two adapters needed for the Br4. First is the DISSENT Side Charger Adapter. This allows the charging handle on the upper to actuate the conversion bolt.

The second piece is the Br4 Conversion kit spacer. Since the internal dimensions of the Br4 differ from a Mk4 DISSENT, the rear spacer takes up the empty space behind the conversion kit bolt and keeps it firmly seated in the chamber during firing and cycling.

How To

  1. Remove the Compact Action BCG from your 5.56mm DISSENT upper.
  2. Insert DISSENT .22 LR Adapter into the upper receiver. The CMMG logo should be on top with the arrows pointing towards the muzzle and the small adapter tang on the bottom.

  3. Insert the .22LR AR Conversion Kit into the upper, making sure the chamber adapter on the conversion bolt is seated into the chamber.
  4. Insert the Br4 Conversion Kit spacer into the lower receiver, making sure the angled cut side faces up.
  5. Apply pressure to the rear of the .22LR Conversion BCG when closing the upper and lower receivers together so the conversion bolt rests against the Br4 lower spacer.
  6. Close upper and lower receivers together and lock the takedown pin.
  7. Done! Now you have a .22LR Br4 and your range day just got more affordable!
